Last Sunday (16th August), i attended The Body Shop Spa Of The World Bloggers event in the Birmingham, Bullring store. I was so excited to go to the event as i had so much fun at the previous ‘Detox‘ themed event i attended in early February this year.
At the event, we all got separated into different groups to try out different products and treatments the body shop have to offer. There was the make-up station, skincare consultation and we also got to try a Spa Ritual with the new Spa Of The World products.
The Spa Of The World collection looked absolutely gorgeous and could not wait to try out the new products! First of all i filled out a questionnaire about how i was feeling and what i want to get out of a spa treatment. The lovely Body Shop representative, Joanna talked me through what products would work best for my busy lifestyle and help me achieve the ‘relaxed’ feeling i desired.
The ‘relaxing’ ritual was the best for me and i first started out having the ‘Himalayan Charcoal Body Clay’ painted onto my forearm. It is designed to remove impurities and soften skin for a deeply cleansed feel. The mask was left on for around 10 minutes, while on my other arm i had the ‘African Ximenia Scrub’ applied in circular motions. After the scrub wash washed off and dried, i had a beautiful body cream applied to my skin that reminded me of softly whipped cream! The cream used was called ‘Japanese Camellia Cream’ and is ideal be used from your décolletage to your toes. Lastly to finish off the ritual, ‘French Lavender Massage Oil’ was applied to give me a hand and arm massage that i throughly enjoyed.
While at the event i could not resist purchasing the ‘Insta Blur‘ primer. It’s great for my skin as it controls shine for up to 12 hours, reduces the appearance of pores and extends my make-up. I would defiantly try Insta Blur if you find your make-up not lasting all day and if you tend to get an oily completion throughout the day.
At the ‘detox’ event last time i discovered the ‘Seaweed‘ skincare range from The Body Shop was ideal for my oily/combination skin and have continued to use this. When i spoke to the skin expert at the event, i wanted an eye product that kept my under eyes hydrated and she recommended the ‘Aloe Eye Defence‘. From using this for a week, i have found my eye area to be feeling fresh, hydrated and has vanished any dry skin.
From seeing all the amazing products The Body Shop had to offer, i had to have a few cheeky purchases! As i said above i picked up the Insta blur and Aloe Vera Eye Deffence, but i also purchased the Japanese Camellia Cream, which stood out to me out of the whole Spa Of The World range. I will at one point get my hands on the body mask and scrub i had used on me in the ritual demonstration!
At the end of the Spa Of The World bloggers event, we all received a free gift which was so kind. It contained the new ‘Egyptian Milk & Honey Bath‘, ‘Camomile Silky Cleansing Oil‘ and an oil concentrated treatment for the face. I must say i am loving the Camomile Silky Cleansing Oil because it really makes my face feel fully cleansed and removes every scrap of make-up!
Also not forgetting while at the event we all had the opportunity to sign up for the new ‘Love Your Body‘ loyalty card that allows you to get 10 points for every £1.00 you spend at the body shop. Once you get 500 points you receive a £5 voucher to spend on any body shop products and plus it doesn’t cost you a thing to join!
I had a fantastic time at the Spa Of The World Bloggers Event in the Birmingham, Bullring store and cannot wait for the next event! Take a look at the Spa Of The World range on the body shop website or pop into your local store.
