I had been craving a traditional sunday pub lunch for a while, so at the weekend i thought it was about time i indulged. Myself and my boyfriend, James took a little drive out to Earlswood Lakes to have some food at The Red Lion and also have a stroll around the Lakes as the weather was so lovely and sunny (about time!).
The Red Lion in Earlswood is a country pub and restaurant that has a rustic character. It is situated in great spot as it is very close to Earlswood Reservoir Lakes, perfect for lovely walks – especially after your meal. Me and James took a fancy to the ‘Vintage Sunday Roast Platter’ for two that consisted of roast beef, roast breast of turkey and herb crusted loin of sweetcure pork, with stuffing and pigs in blankets. It was a gorgeous sunday lunch feast for two and i very much enjoyed trying all the different meats and the vegetables was so tasty! I always have room for pudding and could not turn down a chocolate brownie. The chocolate brownie came served with Irish liqueur ice cream and i must say this combination worked so well and i just want to eat it all over again!
After our meal we walked around the lake and i took a few snaps you can see above. The weather was beautiful and lots of people was enjoying a spot of fishing or having a picnic. If you live in the West Midlands, Earlswood Lakes is a great place to go on a sunny afternoon with friends or family as you can just simple go for a walk, visit the Earlswood craft centre or go for a drink or bite to eat in a local pub.
I hope everybody had a fantastic weekend and the weather was kind to you! Thanks for reading and until next time…
