From never visiting a Prezzo restaurant before, i thought it was about time i went and tried it out – especially as one had just opened in the new shopping complex, Parkgate in Shirley, which is literally a 5 minute walk from my house. I went for a pre-christmas meal with my friend, Hannah and we decided to go all out and have the three course meal with a glass of prosecco (well it is christmas!).
We thought the three course meal and a glass of Prosecco was a good deal at £19.95 and there was a wide selection of dishes to choose from.
For my starter, i went for the Pane Con Cipolla (which i pointed to the waitress as me or hannah could not pronounce it, haha). Basically the dish was a Garlic pizza bread with balsamic onions and mozzarella. I really enjoyed the started as i love the sweetness of the balsamic onions with the oozing mozzarella cheese – perfect combo! Hannah went for the Brushetta that looked really fresh and flavoursome.
At the moment i have gone completely mad for goats cheese, so i just had to have the Goats Cheese & Vegetable Risotto for my main course. I’ve never really gone for a Risotto when eating out before and i think this has become one of my favourite dishes that i will be reordering very soon! The risotto contained butternut squash, green beans, courgettes, lemon juice and mint -the flavours were really fresh and the sharpness of the goats cheese worked so well with the roasted vegetables and creamy risotto.
I was in such a cheese coma while eating my risotto, yum!
For pudding me and Hannah couldn’t resist the Honeycomb Smash Cheesecake. It was honeycomb heaven – blended and topped with crunchy honeycomb pieces coated in chocolate. Such a perfect end to a lovely meal, but i must say i was extremely full afterwards!
The decor in Prezzo Parkgate was really lovely – i really liked the private seating booths with dimmed lights which is perfect for a date night. The spotlights hanging above our table was also pretty impressive! As we went during christmas time, it felt really cosy and christmassy while eating our meal.
From this being my first visit for a Prezzo Restaurant, i would definitely return again as i had a delicious meal and a great experience. I’m also really pleased with how the Parkgate complex is coming along in Shirley as its bringing more character to the area. It’s also allowing people to socialise more with friends and family without having to travel and pay for parking in solihull. I’m sure more new and exciting things will be coming soon to Parkgate – such as the Starbucks coffee shop!
I will be back soon Prezzo to have more of that amazing Risotto!
