From doing my outfit posts, i have come to realise that most of my clothes are monochrome. I guess this isn’t a bad thing; black and white is so classic and chic and i just can’t help purchasing this colour palette! With this outfit, i wanted to put together a monochrome look but make it interesting with different fabrics, textures and accessories.
My boyfriend, James took these outfit images of me in Birmingham on a quiet back street – i love shooting in Birmingham as there are so many hidden cool streets and places. He took the photographs using my Canon 7D (my baby) and used a 50mm lens to get nice sharp details of my accessories and fabrics. From practising a few times, i think James is getting used to my camera and capturing some lovely shots that give an interesting perspective of my outfit and styling.
I couldn’t resist purchasing this monochrome fur textured monochrome top from River Island. I also got 20% off the top as i purchased it at the Birmingham student event with my friends, so it was a pretty good deal! I Would say the top is in-between a t-shirt and jumper as it has a thicker jumper style panel at the front and the rest is a soft jersey – perfect for autumn and winter. Can’t stop stroking the soft fur when i wear it! I was not impressed with my leather look leggings from Forever 21 as this was the second time wearing them and the material started to go very strange and faded. They was around £10 so i guess i should not have expected much from the quality, but still this should not of happened and has made me think that Forever 21’s clothing is not of a high quality. My chunky black boots with zip detail are from New Look and is something i wear on a daily basis.
Instead of shooting with a bag, i thought i would feature my Michael Kors black leather and gold detail purse. To be honest, it is big enough to be used as a clutch bag and i can fit my iPhone in it! I bought this from Bicester village and was around £90 – it is amazing quality and will last me a long time. I’m in love with my most recent statement necklace. It’s from New Look and i just had to purchase it because of the black and grey gem design.
The make-up i’m wearing is my usual day face and i like to have a flawless complexion, but still have a natural look. I used my Mac lipstick in shade Peach Blossom for a subtle pale pink lip colour.
