From signing up to a Glossybox subscription at the start of March 2015, i was really impressed and couldn’t wait for my April edition to arrive. This April’s theme was all about Hollywood looks and i just adored the box and packaging. I couldn’t wait to open to see what was inside…
My first impressions of April’s Glossybox wasn’t as great compared to my March box – it contained products i had never heard of or used before, but this isn’t a bad thing as it allowed me to try out new things. I think i wasn’t that impressed because when opening the package, the items were quite small and surrounded by lots of tissue paper. The box i received was a lovely peach colour and was beautifully packaged.
Nougat London Southing Bath Pearls
This product caught my eye first as i had no idea what it was. I then read the description to find out it is delicate bath pearls that leave a subtle shimmer on the skin. Perfect for bathing in before a party or event and they also smell gorgeous.
Astral Original Face and Body Moisturiser
This face and body moisturiser is said to be a favourite of Hollywood stars and make-up artists. It provides deep moisture and can also remove make-up. I have not tried this product yet, but i am looking forward to trying this on my dry skin areas of my face and body. I’m not a big fan of the packaging and looks like a pretty basic product.
Pop Beauty Kajal Eyeliner Pen
You can’t really go wrong with a black eyeliner pencil; it’s something every girl needs in her make-up bag. I usually use a dark brown shade for my eyeliner, but i am happy to try this black liner for a change and use the smudger brush to create a smokey eye effect.
Colour Club Nail Laquer In ‘Barely There’
Nude nails are bang on trend this spring, but i wasn’t that amazed with this shade. It looks to me like it would need a few coats to make it opaque, but i guess i will have to give it a try. I much prefer bright colours and pastels for spring/summer, although this colour would look great with any outfit.
Lord & Berry Lipstick Pencil In ‘Kiss’
The most expensive product of the whole box is the Lord & Berry Lipstick Pencil In ‘Kiss’. It is described as the perfect Marilyn red. I have never used a crayon lipstick before and it’s so easy to apply and leaves a wonderful matte finish.
Overall i am happy with this April’s Glossybox as i am getting to try products and brands i have never heard of before – I also really enjoyed the Hollywood theme to the boxes. I love the packaging and presentation of the boxes as it gives you a great experience unpacking and finding out what’s inside. I’m already looking forward to May’s Glossybox and hoping there will be a gorgeous summer nail varnish shade and more make-up products!
