Being behind the camera lens is what i love and do best; I enjoy making people feel great and capturing those beautiful natural shots. A couple of weeks ago, Myself and Becky (who is a very talented make-up artist) had organised a fashion photo shoot with a model, but unfortunately we got let down. I decided to ask Becky to step in and model some autumn themed outfits – i think she has a great style, which is perfect to feature on my blog and capture what she is wearing in a street fashion style. I also asked my blogger friend, Hannah to come along and help out and recently she has wrote a wonderful blog post about ‘Working With a Fashion Photographer’.
Before i start to describe the outfit, i just wanted to mention what photographic equipment i used to take this series of photographs. I use my beautiful Canon 7d DSLR camera – which i love and since i have started to blog, i have been carrying it around more. I like to use my canon 50mm lens to capture a strong shallow depth of field and love using it for detail shots for the accessories.
I asked Becky to put together a few different looks so i could get a variety of autumn fashion styles – I loved all the outfits she bought along as they was all so different. In this ‘cosy knit’ look, Becky has teamed an oversized grey jumper with leather look trousers for a texture contrast (which i’m loving right now). The chunky knit black scarf adds another element and keeps the theme of black and grey running throughout her whole outfit. Cute backpacks are the way forward, so easy to carry around and add a chic and grungey vibe. Becky’s backpack is awesome as it has a leather look style with added detail from the silver studs and buckles. The black boots was not a planned part of the outfit and are actually Hannah’s, but we thought they would look great because of there sloughy style.
Because Becky is a Make-up artist, she did her own make-up before the shoot. I suggested for her to do a autumn make-up trend look as it would go really nicely with the outfit styling. I absolutely love her dark red lips as they really pop within the photographs, especially the portraits. She has kept her eyes very simple – i really like this as you don’t want anything too heavy with a statement lip. The lipstick is Chanel Rogue Allure and the shade is ‘Rouge Noir no.109’ – a perfect autumn lip.
If you want to get Becky’s look, heres what she is wearing:
It was so much fun working together as a team to create these lovely street style images. I’ve got two more looks coming up on my blog very soon, but in the meantime please check out Becky’s amazing Make-up on her Facebook Page and Instagram.
A big thanks to Becky for being my model and for Hannah coming along to help. I’m looking forward to sharing the other two looks i have from our shoot, so keep your eyes peeled!
