A while ago on my blog, i did a review about my first time experience of visiting Boston Tea Party in Birmingham (click here to view). From entering a competition on Facebook and sharing my blog post with them, i was lucky enough to win a free meal for two and cakes for me and my guest. I took my boyfriend, James as my guest as he has never been to Boston Tea Party before and i thought it would be nice for him to try it.
I love the decor and layout of the Boston Tea Party in Birmingham. I love walking in and seeing the amazing cake display on the wooden boards and the smell of fresh coffee in the air. The staff are always very friendly, polite and cannot help you enough.
I wasn’t sure if to go for a brunch style dish or go for a burger, but in the end i went for the pulled pork burger and James went for pancakes and bacon with maple syrup (his favourite). I was not expecting us to have drinks included in the free meal and this was a lovely touch. I had the fresh lemonade served in the cute glass jar and James had a black coffee. We sipped on our drinks until our mains came over, but the cakes to the side of us was very tempting!
The pulled pork burger was really tasty and flavoursome; you could tell the pork was a great quality. This was a first time for me in having a brioche bun burger and i thought it worked quite well and added a sweetness against the pork and pickles. I couldn’t get over how amazing the coleslaw was – it included sultanas and this is something i’ve never seen before. Skinny fries was served alongside the burger and it was all displayed in a baking dish style plate. James really enjoyed his Pancakes & Bacon with maple syrup as this is a favourite dish of his – but he did say he does like a bit more bacon to balance out the pancake to bacon ratio.
Once we devoured our mains, it was time to tuck into our cakes! Now people who know me, know I’m obsessed with carrot cake and love to try different ones. From my last blog post, i really wanted to try the carrot cake, but was so full at the time and couldn’t manage anymore food! I’m so glad i tried it this time because it was super scrummy and the portion size was unreal – just amazing. James went for the Bakewell cake as he loves almonds and i could tell he enjoyed it.
After our meal we had a little wonder around Birmingham city centre and i picked up an amazing advent calendar that i will be sharing with you all soon in a future post.
Thanks very much BTP for another great experience and for the amazing free meal for two, drinks and cakes. I hope this post has made you want to take a trip to your local branch and see how good it really is!
