To kick off the 1st February i attended the Bodyshop Detox Event held at the Birmingham bullring store. I went along with my fellow blogger friend, Hannah and had a fabulous time – i really enjoyed the ‘detox’ theme of the event. This was my first Body Shop blogger event as i unfortunately could not make the Christmas event with Hannah, but I’m so glad i go the opportunity to go along to this one.
Once we had all arrived and settled in, we got into partners to try and learn about what skincare the body shop have to offer. Me and Hannah teamed up (of course) and i went first in seeing what skin type i am. Our one to one beauty expert did a test on my skin and discovered i was in the combination/oily category. I did already knew i was combination/oily as i often get an oily t-zone and i learnt that the Seaweed range is best suited to my skin type. We both had a mini facial treatment with the seaweed products which was lovely and i could defiantly get used to somebody doing that for me every sunday evening!
After having my skin pampered, it was time to head over to the make-up station. I got to try the All-in-one Instablur primer which was great as i had never heard of this product before. It has shine control which is perfect for controlling my oily t-zone, it hides blemishes and reduces the appearance of pores. I then had the Moisture Foundation in shade 05 applied followed by the All-in-one Face Base and not forgetting a little bit of blusher!
Me and Hannah got to test out the new ‘Poppy’ collection before its launch date on the 3rd February. Hannah tried out the pink poppy shimmer cube for a very on trend bright eye look that popped. We both tired out the Poppy lip and cheek stain in the shade ‘universal’ which appears black in colour, but when applied to the lips and cheek it adapts to your skin pH giving you an unique shade (Image shown above).
I would not necessarily think of going to the Body Shop for Make-up but more for body pampering products. From going to this detox event it has changed my mind and i would definitely consider purchasing from their make-up collection in the future as i was really impressed.
Next up was our last pampering treatment – a beautiful hand massage. I firstly had the Almond Conditioning Wash applied to my hands with warm water. This was then followed by the Almond Nail & hand cream. (See the almond hand and nail range here).
Once we had all of our beauty treatments, it was time to get shopping with an amazing 40% discount we had on the detox event night. I couldn’t help but pick up a new shower gel and body butter in the scent Honeymania. I also picked up a new blusher brush, the Instablur primer and a mini sampler set of the seaweed collection to test it out before buying the full sizes.
I am really looking forward to attending more Body shop events in the future and cannot wait to see what new collections the body shop have install this year.
